Davy has been working on PB for more than 6 years and organised the first national conference on PB in the UK in 2003 when working at the Audit Commission. He has been on the national PB Reference Group for five years. He currently leads for the PB Unit on Health and is working with the Southampton Thornhill pilot. He has also spoken at many national events on PB for the PB Unit. Now a freelance consultant working on PB, citizen empowerment, partnership working and LSPs, he previously worked at the Audit Commission for 8 years and in London local government for 12 years.

Kevin Ambrose
Kevin is a policy analyst, researcher, facilitator and consultant with over 30 years experience working in, and for, the local government sector. Since 1999, he has been an independent consultant working for government both nationally (Audit Commission, IDeA, LGA and others) and locally with a large number of local authorities and local strategic partnerships. His commissions include strategy formulation, community consultation, service reviews and workshop facilitation.

Leslie Silverlock
Leslie is a Community Empowerment Adviser, Director of Groups Work and Crime Concern (94-05), and president of the new Young Advisors Charity. He coaches partnerships, pilots neighbourhood charters, and trains trainers. Awarded Learning and Development Professional 2007, he works for CLG, DCSF, Treasury, Encams, NCRC, police, health and local authorities. His master classes include Creating Confident Communities and Safer Neighbourhoods, work which has also been delivered in Canada, Australia, Lithuania, Ireland, Germany, the USA, Wales and Scotland.

Jude Irwin
Jude's background is in communications and she is a specialist in plain English. She has
been involved in Newcastle’s U decide PB pilot projects as writer of all
materials to be used with the public (publications, application forms,
invitations, etc), and in producing the DVDs that have been seen quite widely
across the country now.
Alan Budge
Alan worked as a Neighbourhood Partnership Manager for Bradford Vision, the Local Strategic Partnership, for 4 years to March 2008. As well as facilitating partnership working between residents, elected members and service providers, he played a key role in the development of the LSP’s pioneering participatory grant-making programme, responsible for the allocation of over £1m of Neighbourhood Renewal funds. Alan is now also the PB Unit's Northern Regional Co-ordinator.

Peter Bryant
Peter has managed and advised on participatory processes regionally, nationally and internationally for the last ten years. He has worked with a range of organisations including local authorities, residents groups, government and various NGOs. At the moment he is working on a Citizens Jury on obesity and with a group of rural residents who are attempting to influence European rural policy. He believes that participatory budgeting moves beyond the fashionable gimmick which unfortunately so may participatory processes represent.
Jez Hall
Jez has been working on participatory
budgeting since 2000. Since then he has supported many PB initiatives in the UK
and helped establish what became the PB Unit. Jez is also employed by Lancaster University Management School, working
on social enterprise and social entrepreneurship,
delivering training and undertaking research and outreach. Previously he worked in Manchester for a
community architecture charity, supporting organisations in developing community centres and enviromental projects. Jez has
previously been a non-executive director of a Primary Care Trust, and voluntary chair of his local community
association, and involved with inner city regeneration programmes.
Carole Parker
Carole Parker has 25 years experience in neighbourhood regeneration with Government Offices, local authorities and the voluntary sector . She holds a Masters in Urban Renewal and a Post Graduate Diploma in Leading Sustainable Communities. She specialises in the development of community partnerships and face to face stakeholder engagement. Until recently She was responsible for Mersey Waterfront Regional Park's groundbreaking People's Panel, recognised as a real example of excellence in stakeholder engagement.

Richard Johnson
Richard Johnson works with voluntary agencies and local government, advising them on general management as well as finance. He is particularly interested in making sure that financial decisions are widely understood and shared by He works in health, housing. He is based in Stockport and is committed to working with the PB Unit in the North west of England.
