The regional seminars are one day events which provide a good introduction to participatory budgeting.
The day will start with presentations the basics of participatory budgeting, case studies from existing projects in the area, government policy perspectives from the Government Office and voluntary and community sector perspective from the Regional Empowerment Consortia. There is plenty of time to ask questions and provide comment.
In the afternoon the sessions become much more interactive with delegates getting involved with group work to discuss and plan how participatory budgeting might work in their situation and what the benefits, risks and barriers might be for their local area.
The seminars are open to public sector and voluntary/community (third) sector workers within the government office region.
There will be a small administrative charge to delegates to attend this seminar of:
Public sector: £60
Voluntary/community/third sector: £30
