A practical training workshop to share best practice and identify the requirements for a successful PB decision-making event.

The agenda includes:

  • Brief review of the basics of PB

  • Forward planning

       - What events are needed

       - Determining objectives

       - Project planning

  • Securing community involvement

       - Targeting the right stakeholders

       - Individuals and groups

       - Invitations

       - Event formats

  • Fulfilling expectations

       - Style, substance and venues

       - How to involve Elected Members

       - Handling the media

       - Budgets and resources

       - After the event


This course provides opportunities for group exercises and discussing how to put theory into practice.
