Q.

Dear Sirs, Do you have available any statistics on the average fund size that PB's start with and it source

A.

Every PB process is developed locally, determined by local goals and local needs.  Thus each process is different.  Following on from that - the sources of funding differ wildly, depending on what the area is wanting to achieve with PB, and the amount of funding differs significantly too.  We are aware of PB happening in the UK with funding ranging from £500 to £2.7million and many amounts in between.  Probably most start somewhere between £20,00 and £100,000.  Sources include (but aren't limited to) parish precepts, budgets devolved to wards, external funding such as Working Neighbourhoods Fund or Neighbourhood Management Pathfinder funding, Police Authority funds, Police force funds, partnership funding from a range of organisations in an area, Section 106 funding, Second homes funding, mainstream service funding, Housing Association environmental improvement funding, and Primary Care Trust funding.
