Norfolk & Tower Hamlets get green flags in CAA for PB

Both Tower Hamlets and Norfolk have received green flags in their CAA reports for PB. Green flags are awarded for 'exceptional performance or innovation that others can learn from'.

Norfolk were awarded the Green flag for their Your Norfolk Your Decision PB process.  The Audit Commission highlighted their partnership working across the county, their involvement and support of local community and voluntary groups and the numbers and types of people who have participated or benefited from the process.  The report also noted their decision to repeat the process and that it wasn't a one off initiative.

Tower Hamlets were awarded a Comprehensive Area Assessment green flag for Engaging and Empowering People which included their PB process across the whole of their borough, with residents allocating £2.4million through PB to mainstream services. 

The Audit Commission highlighted the increased involvement that participants have through PB in the budgeting process and that it provided an opportunity to understand the community's needs and priorities.

The PB Unit is delighted that Norfolk and Tower Hamlets' PB processes have been recognised by the Audit Commission as 'exceptional' and 'innovative' and something others can learn from.  It is great that PB is being acknowledged and recognised as the innovative and transformative process that it can be.
