Southampton's Your Health Your Community Your Vote success

Southampton PB pilot's first PB voting event on 27th June was a huge success with Thornhill residents turning out to vote on how £50,000 of monies allocated to health should be spent.

Over £100,000 worth of applications were received from local community and voluntary groups in the area for health related projects and the residents of Thornhill voted to fund 10 of the 18 projects with £50,000 from the Primary Care Trust.

Projects funded included healthy positive activities for children and young people, education on sexual health awareness, projects supporting disabled people and blind people, and health projects for older people.
