The Participatory Budgeting Toolkit

We have developed a handy toolkit to help you implement PB in your areas. You can either download it or request a paper/hard copy

We have launched the first participatory budgeting toolkit for the UK!

 PB Toolkit front page

The toolkit is a an easy to use 'how to guide' for participatory budgeting.  It's split into two sections.

Section A: Background and information on PB including

  • benefits, risks, challenges,
  • PB models in the UK
  • history of PB.
  • policy context

Section B: the 'how to guide'

  • Step by step guide to implement a PB process for 2 different models
  • Additional resources developed by PB pilots and pracititioners to help you with your PB project

You can download the toolkit from our website in a PDF format for free here.

You can also request a hard or paper copy .  The paper copy also includes a DVD of a PB event, which you can show people to generate excitement and you'll receive free updates and additional information sheets to add into your toolkit, as they are developed.

We are charging a modest fee of £10 for the paper copy to cover our costs.  Please can you fill in and send us the form here along with payment and we will send the toolkit out to you.  The cost includes postage and packaging.

The form can be emailed to mail@participatorybudgeting.org.uk or posted to:
