Connecting Transition Towns with PB?

A Transition Initiative (which could be a town, village, university or island etc) is a community-led response to the pressures of climate change, fossil fuel depletion and increasingly, economic contraction.

In order to explore further how Transition initiatives and participatory budgeting might work together, the Transition Network looking to support the development of a few pilot projects across the UK.  You can find out more about the Transition Network by clicking here

In some ways, it’s a tricky time to be introducing these kinds of projects.  But, it could also be precisely because of the current economic situation that this might be a great time to start exploring the connection between PB and transition initiatives further.

If you think your Transition initiative or PB process might be interested, get in touch with the Transition Network at catrinapickering@transitionnetwork.org or 01865 403147.
